Overview
In 2014 Cassandra graduated with a Bsc (Hons) majoring in Immunology and Molecular Biology and Genetics. She is currently in her second year of a Masters of Genetic Counselling at the University of Sydney. She is the process of completing her research year at Psychosocial Research Group, UNSW, in collaboration with the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre in Melbourne. Her role within the PRG is to help develop and pilot an information pamphlet. The aspirin information pamphlet will describe the risks and benefits of taking aspirin to reduce the chance of developing bowel cancer in people with Lynch syndrome. Using the feedback from this research, the aim is to produce a resource that can be used by individuals with Lynch syndrome to help them talk to their doctor to decide whether or not they should take aspirin to reduce their bowel cancer risk.
